I would like to share Insight #56 from my book “The Dangerous Book for CEOs”.

 

Move in the direction of deep clarity about both what you can and will do as a team and what you can’t and won’t do.

 

There are four areas to consider:

 

  1. What are you, the team, and the organisation passionate about?
  2. Where can the organisation truly excel or at least, where does it have the potential to excel?
  3. What’s the relevant opportunity in the marketplace – the demonstrable need that your talent and passion addresses?
  4. What’s the business model that allows us to serve that need economically?

 

The area where these overlap, of course, is the Ikigai.
